My Beauty Diary Chocolate Truffle Sheet Mask

My Beauty Diary are a popular Asian band that make all sorts of different sheet masks (a face mask made of material that is soaked in a treatment) with natural ingredients.

Whilst having a relax in the bath I thought I'd give the Chocolate Truffle mask a go. The mask contains "cocoa bean extract from the southern part of Caribbean Sea and very precious truffle
extract from the northern part of Italy" and claims to " sink deep into dry skin and continuously moisturise."

The mask smells divine! It smells of chocolate without being over sweet or sickly, and the mask is really soft. The mask is generously soaked in the liquid (and is best used in the bath because it dripped like mad!) The packaging says to leave on for 20 minutes, but the mask was still soaking wet after that time, so could have been left on for much longer.

The treatment made my skin feel really silky soft, and refreshed, which was nice as this Winter weather has really dried it out. My face looked much brighter too. The downside was the next morning I awoke to 2 big spots on my cheek 0_0 but, on the plus my skin was feeling much softer.

The obligatory Christmas post ◕‿◕

MUA Luxe glitter eye palette in Twilight

Just before Christmas i picked up this MUA glitter eye palette from Superdrug for just £4 as i like to add a bit of glitter to my make up for the festive season. The palette features four shades of fine glitter in a smooth gel.

The colours are the most beautiful shades of purples and pinks and the glitter is impressively dense meaning you get great coverage. There are many ways of using this- washed over the lids, mixed together (I've even tried it over my lipstick), but my favourite way to wear it was to push the gel on over my black eyeliner with an angled brush. It gave a dense sparkly liner that lasted well all day.

For just £4 it was well worth the money, and I've already had a lot of use out of it :)

NOTD: Kate Spade by Nails Inc Big Apple Red

I never usually buy Glamour magazine, but when i saw they had free Nails Inc nail polishes for £2 i couldn't resist the bargain. The colour i chose was Big Apple Red, which is a lovely almost rosy red. I love red nails any time of the year but they especially look good around Christmas time ◠‿◠

My only one moan about this is that it chipped really quicky, but for £2 i'm not so bothered.

Etude House x Disney: XOXO Minnie collection

Etude House's latest collection is a collaboration with Disney. I must admit i am not the hugest fan of Disney or Minnie Mouse so will probably give this one a miss, although those glitter polishes and blush compacts do look lovely! Here's the promo images...

Lioele Lip Color Stick...

Lioele is one of Koreans most popular cosmetic brands. So far i only have one of their products- this Lip Color Stick. It's a nice combination of lip balm, gloss, and lipstick in one.

There are 4 shades to choose from, and i have the pink option. My favourite thing about this is that it smells exactly like strawberry milkshake! ^_^ The packaging has a nice lace type design too, and you twist the black part to get more when it runs low. The product itself is nice and moisturising and gives a glossy pink wash to the lips.

Leoele have since rebranded these and you can get them here for the bargain of £3.44!

Illamasqua Fundamental Palette...

As you might have seen from a recent post i made an Illamasqua order, and bought the beautiful Fundamental Palette. What instantly drew me to this palette was the contrast in colours and mix of textures. The palette includes a powder eyeshadow is Hype (matte sunshine yellow), Liquid Metal in Surge (molten pewter), Cream Pigment in Bedaub (matte mint green), and a powder eyeshadow in Inception (matte violet purple). Along with a big mirror, and all housed in the lovely trademark compact.

On first look, it might not seem the most wearable of colours but there are so many options with this palette. For a simple daytime look Surge is perfect for lightly washing over the lids to give a little shimmer, or smudging Inception on the crease works really well too. I already had Bedaub on my wishlist simply because i love 'corpse like' and pastel colours (horror & kawaii fan) and this was the perfect kawaii corpse colour!

The cream colours are really easy to work with, and stay put really well. Creasing was inevitable, but i do like creasing as i'm a fan of more 'messed up' make up so i didn't find it a problem. The matte shades are also really easy to blend (which can sometimes be a problem for mattes) and are shockingly pigmented too! Overall i absolutely love this palette, and although i haven't quite found a good use for Hype yet (determined to!) i am reaching for this almost daily.

Hello Kitty lipsticks!

If you read my blog regularly you will know i am a big fan of both bargain shops and Hello Kitty, so i was excited (understatement) when i saw these Hello Kitty lipsticks in B&M for just £1.49 each! Out of the 5 colours i picked these lovely Autumn shades.

Firstly let's agree the packaging is ⊱✿ ♥ ♥✿⊰ (no words needed!) Kittys head matches the lipstick colour on the inside. As you can see from the swatches the pigmentation is really good. The texture is really creamy and moisturising too. The shades i got were Koala Berry (a rich wine berry red), Fleur Rider (a pinky nude), and Peachy Keen (a golden peach). Peachy Keen is my least liked shade as it is just too shimmery and nowhere near as pigmented as the other 2.

Overall a great bargain!

Etude House Dear Girls BB Clear BB Cream

Today i will be reviewing Etude House Dear Girl BB Cream. I've been wanting to try an Etude House BB Cream for ages, and i must admit the reason for choosing this one was the cute pink packaging ❁◕ ‿ ◕❁ This BB cream claims to offer whitening and UV protection SPF30. The box says that it promotes youthful skin with it's natural coverage that conceals imperfections and uneven skin tone. Perhaps this wasn't the right choice for me as it is aimed at young/ teen skin.

The shade is perfect for my pale face, although i do believe this is the only shade 【・ヘ・?】Once applied i found it gave a 'soft focus' finish to my face. It neutralised, and blurred out imperfections although not totally erasing them. I also found it caked a little on my nose. Overall i was pleased with the finish, and it felt nice and light. I found this lasted really well all day, and my skin certainly didn't get as oily as it usually would. (>‿◠)✌

Here are the dreaded before and after pictures! As you can see concealer was still needed, but my skin definitely looked better. The after picture was taken before powder/ concealer. I felt i definitely needed a primer for this and used Nina Ricci Moisturising Whitening Fluid, and Nina Ricci T Zone Mattifier.

I'm looking forward to trying more Etude House BB Creams, as i'm sure i will find one that will suit my skin even better than this one  ◕ ‿ ◕ I've posted a FOTD using this here.

Look Beauty Statement Eyes Single Eyeshadows

Today i wanted to share Look Beauty's Statement Eyes single eyeshadows. For just £4 (or right now, and often £2) you get a large pan eyeshadow in sturdy (and a little bulky) packaging. There are 30 shades available.

Apart from the fact there are some lovely shades to choose from the quality of these are brilliant. I love how silky they are. There are a selection of different finishes and most of mine are metallic- and buttery in texture. The pigmentation is brilliant and they blend really easily. I'm really impressed with the one matte shade i have, which again has great pigment without being chalky.

I find these are better with some sort of base, as they tend to crease (although i find this with most eyeshadows personally).

Top: Satin, a metallic deep pink. Tutu, a shimmering cool toned light pink. Sorbet, a matte peachy orange.

Top: Denim, a metallic royal blue. Disco, a metallic rich purple. Suede, a warm toned velvety brown. Cashmere, a soft taupe.
Anyone else a fan of these eyeshadows?

Etude House Antoinette Heart Blusher

The first thing that drew me to the Etude House Heart Blusher was the amazingly cute packaging. It's the perfect product to sit on my vanity table and look fancy! The packaging itself is a good quality pot with screw top lid. Housed inside are compacted powder blush shaped like hearts (>‿♥)

The blush hearts are very soft and silky and they are the same as bronzing beads etc... where you dip your brush (or the cute puff that comes with it) and apply. There is a mix of different shades that give a lovely peachy glow. There is just the right amount of shimmer, and you can pretend you are an old glamorous Hollywood actress when you are applying it....or is that just me (●´◡`●)

There is also a pink version which looks just as lovely.

Elegant Touch Metallic false nails

I've never ever tried false nails before. They have never appealed to me, after seeing people struggle to type (which I'm doing now), eat, and pretty much do anything whilst wearing them. They just looked too uncomfortable and impractical.

But then i saw some packs of Elegant Touch false nails in Poundland including sets of Metallic nails. I love metallics, and these just look amazing so i bought a pack. The pack said the length was short so that sounded good to me.

The pack comes with 24 nails (to offer a choice of sizes), a buffer, and glue. They are really easy to apply- each nail has a tab (which is numbered to make it easier to match the other hand) and once you've selected the right size you just squeeze some glue on the nail and press the nail on. The tab makes positioning it really easy, and once dry you just pull the tab off. Simple!

My nails (and hands) are freakishly small, but I managed to find the right sizes here, and strangely my nails are different sizes on each hand (actually, I don't know if that's strange or not...!) Once on at first I felt like Wolverine or Edward Scissor-hands... they took a lot of getting used to. The short length was good on all but 2 nails that seem extra long and make me feel like Cruella DeVille (which i enjoy a little).

Despite the fact it makes everyday stuff a little trickier I'm slowly getting used to the nails, and they feel like they are stuck on solid so I'm not worried of them flinging off and they look blimmin' fierce! I love them, and will definitely be looking out for some more on my next visit to Poundland! Grr
