Holika Holika PRO:BEAUTY Tint Tok review...

A while back I reviewed the Cheek Tok from Holika Holika's PRO:BEAUTY line, and today I have the Tint Tok to review. It is a double ended product, with a tinted lip balm at one end and a cushion tint at the other.

The product allows you to either create a gradient effect lip by putting the balm all over and dabbing some of the tint to the inner part or you can apply a wash of all over colour by layering the tint over the balm. The balm is really nice and moisturising, giving a sheer glossy wash of colour. The cushion tint is really unusual, the applicator 'cushion' is spring loaded and the product itself is in the lid. The tint is a solid cream that is really pigmented. The shade I have is Baby Mango, and when layered together it gives a really lovely bright coral pink that lasts impressively well.

I also wanted to mention the packaging which is really sturdy and perfect for carrying around in your bag :)

Holika Holika Juicy Shine Lip Balm review....

I can never resist a good lip balm, and this one was so cheap I thought I'd buy it when I ordered some other cosmetics. These Juicy Shine Lip balms each have really cute packaging corresponding with their fruity scent- Watermelon, Raspberry and Grapefruit. I chose Watermelon, because I am a huge fan of anything watermelon related. The balm is sheer and glossy with a good hint of red that shows up nicely on the lips. I'd say this would be a good Summer lip balm as it isn't overly moisturising, but lovely all the same.

A nosey inside my bedroom...

I wanted to do some blog posts that were something other than make up but I've been struggling to think of things (ideas welcome!) So I thought I would do something fairly simple and post some pictures of my room. I personally love these kind of posts, mainly because I'm nosey, but also because I think you can tell a lot about someone from their bedroom.

I've recently had to move back home for a bit, which is a weird experience as an adult used to living in my own place so I've had to try and squash all my stuff into one room. As you can guess there is a lot of Hello Kitty, and pastel... I refuse to grow up!

I realised after I uploaded the pictures I could have at least made the bed...

Finally, here is the contents of my heavily organised cupboard. Can you tell I love storage boxes?!

Etude House Princess Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips review...

I love how Etude House put so much detail into their packaging. The lipstick case for the Princess Etoinette Crystal Shine Lips is just so beautiful! As well as the packaging the lipstick itself is scented with a "floral fragrance of Versailles" Which smells of peony- lovely without being too strong.

The lipstick has a really good colour pay off, which I was wasn't expecting actually- I thought it would be more of a sheer gloss so I was pleasantly surprised! The shade I bought is PPK005 (It does have a shade name, but I can't find a translation that makes much sense) which is a lovely deep wine pink with fine glitter in. It gives a shimmery and glossy finish, and feels nice and moisturising- which could be down to the royal jelly extracts. There are two other shades that are both really nice too. This lipstick is most definitely not style over substance!

Wilkinsons make up brushes...

The other day when going in Wilkinsons to get some cat food I couldn't help notice they had a load of new skincare and bodycare ranges. The main thing that caught my eye though, were these cute make up brushes. I know some people will be put off by the coloured bristles and patterned handles, but I couldn't resist! They had a blue bristled range and a pink one. Because they were so cheap I thought I might as well get a few to try. They are 100% synthetic and even come with protective covers for travel...

First up is the Foundation Brush £2, with the lovely dogtooth design. I tried this with my primer and foundation and I have no complaints! The bristles are soft but sturdy enough to give a good blend, and the size is just right for getting around the nose and eyes.

Next is the Eye Make Up Brush £1, which is described on the packet as 'fluffy' but it really isn't. I tried this for eye shadow and wasn't a fan as I prefer an actual fluffy brush, but for eye bases and cream shadows this was brilliant. The firm bristles were perfect for smoothing on cream products.

Lastly I chose the Eyeliner Brush £1, which is my favourite of the three. The  bristles are short, angled and perfectly firm for applying eyeliner. This is perfect with gel liner, and I found it gave a really clean line.

Overall I'm really impressed with these brushes, they were easy to use and they don't feel cheap or like they are going to fall apart easily. I would definitely recommend, especially if you are on a budget, and I love how they brighten up my brush pot!

Mixiu Triple Shot lipstick review...

When Born Pretty Store contacted me about reviewing a product I was instantly drawn to this Mixiu Triple Shot lipstick. It is three colours in one, that gives you an instant ombre effect lip. Mixiu is a Korean brand I'd not heard of before so I'm excited to give them a try.

The lipstick comes well packaged, and the case itself is sturdy and good quality. It doesn't feel cheap- and it has that satisfying click when you put the lid on (anyone else like lipstick packaging that does that....?!)

You apply the lipstick with the darker shade on the inner part of your lips. The shade I chose was 15 which is a nice combination of bright orange, apricot and a nude beige. The texture is really creamy and moisturising whilst giving a glossy finish. As for pigmentation it is fairly sheer, which makes it a little difficult to clearly see the separate colours, but I actually really like the effect of all the colours mixed together- it gives a nice creamy orange gloss perfect for Summer!

I have uploaded a video review (here) that shows application, and what it looks like on.

Mixiu Triple Shot is available in 3 colours from Born Pretty Store Here for the bargain of £2.87 with free worldwide shipping.
Born Pretty Store have also kindly given me a 10% off discount code to share with you which is METW10 They have lots of lovely make up, and nail art supplies, so it's worth checking out!

[This lipstick was provided for reviewing purposes but as usual I have given a completely honest review]

June Empties...

Technically these are my May empties as I took the pictures and forgot to write up the post, but here goes...("aww here goes" thinking of Kenan & Kel now...)

Soft & Gentle Antiperspirant: There's not much to say about deodorant really is there... other than this one did the job!
Creightons Vanilla & Macadamia Cocoon Shower Burst: This smells amazing! I love it and will definitely repurchase if I can find it.
Mellor & Russell Moisturising Conditioner with Argan Oil: This was really thin for a conditioner and didn't really do much- it smelt nice though. Wouldn't repurchase.
Along Came Betty Pore...fect Polish Face Scrub: This had a nice peachy smell, but I found it dried my skin a bit, and I forced myself to use it up so as not to waste it. Wouldn't repurchase.

L'Oreal Triple Active Velvet Toner: This is really silky and refreshing. It leaves my skin nice and smooth and is gentle enough for dry and sensitive skin. Already repurchased.
L'Oreal Soothing Gel Cream Wash: This was a pretty nice face wash, that was nice and gentle but didn't have any noticeable effect to my skin. Also found Garnier have a version which is exactly the same but cheaper. Maybe repurchase if on offer.
The Body Shop Rasberry Ripple Shower Gel: I love this stuff, and sadly it's the last bottle from my stockpile! Definitely repurchase if they bring it back.
Tresemme Keratin Smooth Hair Mask: This mask is really nice, and has made a big difference to my bleach damaged dry hair. Will repurchase.

Poundland Designer Nail Kit: These were pretty good, although I only got one use out of these because my nails are so small! Full review here. Maybe repurchase once I've used up my growing collection of nail kits.
Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel: This was alright, but nothing special! Full review here. Wouldn't repurchase.
No.7 Nourishing Lipshine: I love this, and am sad that it's all gone. A moisturising lip gloss that's non sticky and has a nice pink sheen- and I usually hate lipgloss! Will repurchase at some point.
MUA Extreme Curl Mascara: This didn't even give a little curl let alone an extreme one! Also a week after opening went really thick and horrible so technically it's not empty. Definitely wouldn't repurchase.
